Hype Nation (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a local event-discovery platform that helps people find events, venues, and things to do in Cincinnati. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
What we collect
- Account information: email address, name, and any profile details you choose to add.
- Event activity: RSVPs, “Interested”/“Going” selections, saves, shares, and directions requests.
- Ticket purchases: name, email, and ticket quantity for events you buy tickets to. We do not store your payment card number; that is handled directly by Stripe, our payment processor.
- Location data: approximate device location only when you explicitly allow it, used to show nearby events and venues.
- Support and communication: emails or messages you send us, plus transactional emails about your account, events, or ticket orders.
How we use your information
- Provide, operate, and improve Hype Nation.
- Show you relevant events, venues, and recommendations.
- Process ticket purchases and send order confirmations.
- Communicate with you about your account, events, and platform updates.
- Monitor errors and performance to keep the app stable.

Third-party services we use
We rely on trusted providers to run Hype Nation. These services may process your data on our behalf under strict privacy and security practices:
- Supabase — cloud database, authentication, and storage for account and event data.
- Stripe — payment processing for ticket purchases. Stripe handles your card details directly; we only see the name, email, and items you bought.
- Mapbox — maps and geocoding to display venues and directions. IP addresses may be shared with Mapbox when maps load.
- Sentry — error and crash reporting so we can fix bugs quickly. Sentry may receive device and session info when errors occur.
- Resend — email delivery for account and ticket-related messages.
Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We also collect limited analytics and usage data to understand which features help people find events. You can disable non-essential cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work as intended.
Your rights
You can access, update, or delete most account information from your profile. You may also request a copy of your personal data or ask us to delete it entirely by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and as required by applicable law.
Data retention and security
We keep your information only as long as needed to provide the service, fulfill legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We use industry-standard protections such as encryption in transit and access controls, but no online service is completely secure.
Children
Hype Nation is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, please contact us so we can delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised policy with a new effective date. Continued use of Hype Nation after changes means you accept the updated policy.
